The year 2023 was a ride and brought a mix of emotions. The turbulences culminated in November with the parting of ways with
Kentico
and the birth of my second daughter. So, what lies ahead for me in 2024?
First and foremost, I am focused on finding a new balance between my hobbies, activities, and family life. We consider spending some time outside the Czech Republic, provided our daughters' health allows it. And the big thing is that
Nikola Perlova
decided to take a one-year-long online coaching course, so I will definitely support her in this.
Of course, I also look forward to connecting with people at conferences and meetups like
Marketing Festival
, SaaS Vegas, HackerCamp, and others.
From a professional standpoint, there are various options that are available:
- Continue freelancing – consulting, mentoring, coaching marketing leaders, working on internal projects for clients, or even taking on interim or fractional Marketing, Growth, or Commercial roles. This path may involve collaboration with agencies, other freelancers, or innovation centers. I love meeting new people and working on more projects, broadening my network, and enjoying the variety of professional life.
- Rejoining the workforce in a leadership role within Marketing, Growth, or Commercial capacities. While I have yet to decide if full-time employment is the right choice, I remain open to exploring any opportunities that arise.
- A third option closely resembles full-time employment but with a twist – joining a startup or a scaleup as a co-founder instead of an employee. Opportunities have already presented themselves through friends and peers with interesting products that need a commercially oriented co-founder.
- Launch my own startup. Currently conducting market research for an idea relevant to today's market demands, I am assessing competitors and gathering insights from potential customers.
- Another option on my radar is pivoting towards a more altruistic route by collaborating with NGOs or organizations focused on creating a positive impact and driving systemic change. I was always close to some meaningful causes, and contributing to them is an appealing calling.
Of course, there's always the possibility of blending some of these options together. For instance, one could engage in consulting or freelancing while simultaneously bootstrapping one's own business idea.
This decision-making process is fun, and I remain open to new ideas, networking opportunities, and valuable connections that may help shape my future endeavors. Please feel free to reach out to me. 😉

11moHello Jenda! Possibilities abound, and you are already on a AI exploration journey. After my last long term post I decided not to go back full time, fractional. But then sucked back in (sort of, money gets tight in New York) and then of course the whole thing is a roller coaster anyway and now really trying to build the gig/fractional. You will have ups and downs. I don’t know if it is better or worse to know there are many of us out there. Better or worse to hear things “the great CMOs have the shortest tenure,” it has taken me two years to finally reinvent my reinvention…so redesigning all now. But, if you ever want to celebrate, commiserate, or just kick things around, I spent two years finding some of the best out there to do so with…coaches, CMOs, marketers. The support is there. Enjoy your family. That is what matters most in life.
