What’s wrong with your OOO message

What’s wrong with your OOO message

Several weeks ago, I left the country for my honeymoon. While I was away, I made sure to prep my clients for my absence weeks in advance because doing so had multiple benefits.

💡 Tip of the Day

Believe it or not, your OOO can positively contribute to your presence (both how and where others see you) by showing that you’re a communicative and thoughtful teammate.

While most people choose to give a heads-up to their teams and clients a few days in advance, your team will thank you if you can give even more notice.

Here’s an example of a simple one I made for my email signature.

Not only did it give everyone a heads-up so they could plan accordingly, but it also had the added bonus of creating some human connection. Many people asked where I was headed off to and congratulated me on my personal update. :)

I'm so happy you address this topic, Lorraine K. Lee because as a SMB, often we forget to even turn it on since it is so tempting to "work from vacation."😟 The whole point of time away is to unplug so setting things up in advance will bring peace of mind and a better level of professionalism.
