What’s your worst nightmare?

Well in the world of Learning and Development some may say ‘Spending my Apprenticeship Levy’

 But why is that? and what are the problems that need solving?

Our previous experience and current exploratory conversations have brought us to some conclusions.

 Does the following sound familiar …?

 You have your levy and you really want to spend it. You’ve done all the right things; identified the skills gaps in your organisation that you need to address, got a clear understanding of the benefits of upskilling your people, understood how apprenticeship programmes can drive business performance, engagement, retention and support the social mobility of your people… but what now?

Well, surely it's simple, right?

 Pick a brilliant training provider to partner with, that delivers the right programmes, is aligned to your culture and values as a business and away you go, propelling your people and your business to stratospheric success!

But it just doesn’t seem to work as easily as other L&D interventions, as apprenticeships often seem complicated, bureaucratic and lengthy. Facilitating quality apprenticeship programmes in your business can feel so much more difficult than it should – it could be your own personal Halloween nightmare!

It is entirely possible to get caught up navigating the inflexibility of the apprenticeship standard, alongside the mandatory qualifications (you aren’t sure your teams are going to want to do maths?!) and if you are based across all parts of the UK, navigating the devolved nature of funding alongside age restrictions.

A great apprenticeship provider will help you navigate all these areas!

 From our networks and the conversations, we’ve been having on this topic, we think the fog could be lifted if we can solve a few key problems;

1 - Who are the really brilliant apprenticeship providers out there and how do you spot them?

·      They are the ones who have earned and sustained a great Ofsted rating and can demonstrate ongoing performance direction

·      They can prove they are financially buoyant – in this saturated marketplace they’re not going to fold and leave you and your learners in the lurch

·      They demonstrate flexibility around the standards – whilst still delivering against them, they work with you to make sure it practically makes sense for your business

·      And then of course, it’s the ones who have a real passion for developing people at all levels in whatever their specialism

2 - Which apprenticeships are the right fit for your people?

 Cutting through the noise and distraction to identify the qualifications that are the most beneficial for your people in clear simple terms, with language common in the corporate environment is really tricky. Therefore, getting to the gist of what each apprenticeship provider offers needs to be made more straightforward.

 Our professional site users want support on the complete end to end process, from those who offer functional skills course as a gateway to an apprenticeship qualification, clarity on high quality programmes that deliver real performance impact and end point assessment to see learners achieve success.
