When a crisis comes, make sure you have the right PR partner in your corner

“We hope you’ll never need it, but we want you to be prepared, just in case.”

My team has used that phrase — or a version of it — many times over the years in conversations with clients. In addition to developing a manufacturing public relations strategy, we also create a crisis communications plan for our clients within the industry. We hope it’s a plan that gains digital dust, but a crisis can happen when you least expect it, and we wouldn’t be doing our job if we didn’t have a strategy to implement when disaster strikes.

And in the manufacturing industry, disaster can strike quickly. Supply chain issues impacting customer orders. Layoffs. Personnel issues or harassment claims. Accidents in the workplace. All these things and more can create issues within the company and externally as well. We live in a digital age where a single social media post can go viral, reaching a national or even global audience.

We all know that it’s not if a crisis happens, it’s when. That’s why crisis management is such an important service my team offers. As soon as something happens, we’ve got a plan to roll out, which includes getting your team prepared and ready for next steps. A crisis is never a good thing, but there are good ways to handle them.

From streamlining communications to developing prepared statements to managing and monitoring the media, my team is there every step of the way. And once the worst has passed, we’ll help you evaluate the situation and take stock of what we’ve learned.

Do you have a trusted PR partner in your corner that’s not only helping you build your brand through positive media coverage and content but is also prepared to tackle challenging circumstances if something hits the fan? If you can only say yes to one of these things, it’s time you start re-evaluating your partnerships. If you said no to both, you need to memorize this number (865) 977-1973 or visit us online and go ahead and give us a call. My team will be with you in good times and bad.
