Where can I order my Qurbani?

With the Muslim festival of Qurbani just around the corner, UK abattoirs will be processing around 70,000 small ruminants and an appreciable number of cattle too. It is the busiest period for Halal abattoirs who will be working frantically to serve the needs of the Muslim consumer. While the majority of these Qurbanis are done by UK Muslims, some EU consumers prefer to order their Qurbani from the UK, mainly due to the trust they have in our Halal credence.
Even though there is ample number of abattoirs and retailers who offer this service, many consumers are still unsure of where to order their Qurbani in the UK. In the last few days, I have received several emails from consumers asking for guidance on where they can order their Qurbani. There two principal outlets: you can order directly through an abattoir or through your local butcher. Some Halal meat counters in the mainstream supermarkets may also be able to process your order. This is imperative that consumers make informed choices, and they need accurate information and guidance as to what they need to look for when ordering and collecting their Qurbani. 7moDon't forget that consumers should also be demanding their Qurbani label so they don't fall victim to Qurbani fraud. If it wasn't performed after Eid salah it's not Qurbani!
