WHITE SOX NAME THERABODY AN OFFICIAL RECOVERY TECHNOLOGY PARTNER
Leaders in Tech Wellness Help to Maximize Player Training and Recovery
The Chicago White Sox announced a partnership with Therabody, naming the global leader in tech wellness and percussive massage therapy an official recovery technology partner.
The partnership incorporates Therabody’s innovative Theragun® percussive therapy devices and RecoveryAir pneumatic compression technology into White Sox training, activation and recovery protocols.
Committed to improving overall player health and maximizing team performance, Therabody’s cutting-edge technology and industry-leading research will help inform White Sox players, coaches and medical staff about the latest innovations and most advanced wellness solutions.
Through the partnership, Therabody will customize a section in the White Sox dugout, creating a space for players to access recovery tools, such as the Theragun PRO during the game. Additional technology devices – including the Wave Roller and Recovery Air – will be available in the bullpen and training room spaces for team workouts and recovery time.
“It’s exciting to join forces with a partner who shares the same goal we do – putting a healthy team of White Sox players on the field for the grind of 162 games,” says White Sox head athletic trainer James Kruk. “Therabody provides a network of world-renowned health and fitness experts as well as the latest technologies that can prime our players to perform. We are thrilled to team up with Therabody and prioritize health on and off the field, focusing on accelerating recovery and preventing injury to gain a competitive edge.”
Considering the various physical and mental preparation required of each player and position, Therabody develops effective, personalized wellness routines for the entire White Sox roster. Additionally, the company’s education division, Therabody University, offers informational resources about the benefits of deep muscle treatment and whole-body wellness techniques.
“I’m honored to be joining the White Sox in their pursuit of improving player health,” explains Dr. Jason Wersland, Founder and Chief Wellness Officer of Therabody. “Baseball is a full-body sport, and every player needs an extreme level of endurance, strength, and mobility to play at their best. I’m looking forward to developing customized training, activation, and recovery protocols for each player and helping to enhance the team’s overall performance.”
