Who Are You Competing Against?

Happy Friday!

It can be difficult to stay on top of our own shortcomings.

For many if not most people it has become the norm to “survive” the workweek and celebrate “Happy-Hump Day” and “TGIF”(Thank God it is Friday).

They think they don’t have a choice, but what if there is one?

Would it be worthwhile to invest in your life?

Binge-watching useless TV shows can be a lot more appealing than focusing on self-improvement, but will this choice lead to a happy and fulfilled life? This is up to you to decide.

Two years ago, I have decided to support my audience with weekly videos entitled “Manufacturing Leadership Minute with Karin”.

Make sure to check out my YouTube channel by clicking the link above. If you cannot open YouTube at work, forward the email to your personal email, or check it out on LinkedIn.

There are so many things that can derail us in the journey called life. Excuses are always available.

You deserve to not only be at your best. You deserve to live your best life.

If you would like to get to the next level….

My goal is to inspire people to become a little bit better each day, and to make a difference in their lives as well as in the organizations they work for.

If people become more aware of their own shortcomings and they develop a growth mindset, their desire to improve will become unstoppable.

You may have already heard the following conversation between the CFO and the CEO.

CFO asks the CEO: “What happens if we invest in developing our people and then they leave us?”

CEO responds: “What happens if we don’t and they stay?”

Here are a few things to think about:

  • Learning new things drives mental flexibility and adaptability
  • Being curious is so much better than being furious
  • Understanding yourself is a must in order to understand others
  • Teaching people “how to think” will bring better results than forcing people “what to think”
  • Giving a different meaning to challenging situations will help people to thrive rather than survive

In a constantly changing world, it is important to learn and grow. If you don’t make a plan to better yourself, nobody else will do that for you.

  • Go and attend that training.
  • Hire that coach.
  • Read that book.
  • Watch that educational video.

Keep learning, keep improving and strive to become the best you can be. It’ll be a win-win for everyone involved.

Food for Thought:

When was the last time you invested money to educate yourself?

Karin, I love your lessons, especially about investing in oneself. After 40 years as an entrepreneur, I switched into a purely sales role, and I have been learning each and every day, and if I take my foot of the learning pedal, I seem to find myself treading water and moving in small circles.
