Why Aren't You Making Money Off LinkedIn?

This is officially my first LinkedIn Newsletter and I can't be more excited. I've tried almost all the features that LinkedIn offers, but I have not tried the newsletter option.

But here I am now!. 

If you don't know who I am, I am Favour Lucy Aya , and you can call me the LinkedIn empress.

I started this newsletter because I want you to get the best out of LinkedIn. I want you to utilize LinkedIn for Influence and income.

I am an 18-year old online entrepreneur and I am currently the founder of BDS a company that shelters our various brands like the BALS University .

So, this particular Newsletter is written to help you have a documented summary of the value myself and Francis dispensed on the day of my brand launch being the 13th.

I talked about knowing how to create content that actually prompts your customer avatar to send you a DM.

And one of the major points I hammered on, was;

  1. Creating content that your customer avatar will want to read. The truth is, if your target audience do not read your content till the end, they will not be able to take that step you want them to take. 

Here the big question comes in.

How do you then create content that your target audience will want to read?. Now, before I delve into what you should have in mind, you should decide on the format of the content you want to be consistent with.

You can either go with text-only, text and photo, text and video, polls, carousels, etc. Whichever one you decide to go with, just apply consistency.

Because I use text and photo format, I'll recommend you use that and you should have these tips in mind.

  • Your headline should be trigger emotions like; reflection, happiness, anger etc. You have just 220 characters and not words, to convince your reader to click on the 'see more' so you need to pique their interest as quickly as you can.
  • Have this formula in mind. (What your audience wants to hear + GO FURTHER to make it more relatable + Be more relatable with your next word/sentence). There you have it, you have successfully caught their attention because those few sentences were relatable to them.
  • The body of your post shouldn't be saying an entirely different from what your headline promised. This kind of content is called a click bait and when you do this once, twice and even the third time, people would not want to engage on your content because your previous content deceived them.
  • Always have what you want your reader to take out from that post. I usually call it a key 'takeaway'. So, you can reiterate what you want them to take away from that post with a one-line summary.
  • Your content should have a CTA. I mean that every content you publish should direct your reader on what they should do after reading the content. It can be a follow request, an invitation to register for your webinar, etc.
  • Use clear and beautiful pictures. If you take causal photos, then ensure you make Lightroom your friend. You will be able to edit your photos professionally with Lightroom.
