Why Changing Feels Scarier Than Going Broke!

"Tim! I just closed my first sale in three years for $75,000."

That happened to an entrepreneur client of mine last month.

Previously, he had been jumping from project to project and venture to venture without a clear purpose or vision for what he wanted.

Instead, he led with a money goal, a mistake MOST entrepreneurs, small business owners, authors, speakers, consultants, and coaches make.

"I want to make a million dollars this year," he said when we first met.

"How much are you making now?" I replied.

He said, "I'm barely making any money now, but I used to make $30k a month in a business that I gave up so I could pursue other opportunities.

But those opportunities didn't work out and now I've been procrastinating for so long that I've got myself in financial trouble."

When I asked what he enjoyed doing most, who his favorite client was, or what made him successful in the past, he didn't want to talk about that.

His only focus was on making a million dollars this year and why he had been such a failure for the last three years.

It took two months to break him of this sabotaging habit.

He didn't want to give up his victim's story because it unconsciously gave him something to focus on other than taking action in a new way.

For many, maybe even you, changing feels scarier than going broke!

Do you know how to tell if someone has that money-crushing belief? They will desperately need what you have but will tell you they can't afford it.

So, I took him through my Awakening process to break the unconscious mental program that would prevent him from ever attaining what he wanted.

Over the years, it's become apparent that it's a LACK OF CONFIDENCE that holds people back more than all the other issues combined!

Here's step-by-step what we did to break his self-defeating pattern:

1. We started by eliminating self-limiting beliefs he had since childhood because if you don't patch the hole in the bottom of your bucket, it won't matter how much water you pour into there.

2. We replaced them with more empowering beliefs and feelings of love and self-acceptance. That gave him confidence in himself and a sense of worthiness that he deserved to fulfill his desires.

3. Next, we upgraded his conscious mind by upgrading his thinking from scarcity to prosperity, which erased the stinking-thinking and procrastination.

4. We got CLEAR on what attitude and behaviors would produce joy, happiness, and successful outcomes for him TODAY. (We did not focus on how to make a million dollars. That is a byproduct, not a goal.)

5. Once we were clear on who his perfect client is and where to find them, I shared how to create instant rapport, curiosity, desire, and proven methods for closing the deal, strengthening relationships, and generating referrals.

6. Finally, it was time for him to take ACTION, which was so much easier to do now that he had CLARITY and a set of empowering beliefs backing him up.

Most coaches would stop there feeling like they had more than delivered for their clients.

Yet, there is another step when helping someone grow a business.

7. Know your numbers and create a scalable system.

We'll talk more about that next if you're interested.
