Why did we change our name from Trusty.care to Circle?

Changing your company's name feels like you have decided to change your last name when you move to a new country. It is a big deal. It means a lot. So why do it? When we chose the name Trusty.care, we were a direct-to-consumer focused solely on enrollment into Medicare. We have grown into a platform that focuses on the entire journey of seniors, low-income, or self-employed individuals through their journey with a value-based care organization, health plan, and broker. We didn’t feel like the brand had kept up with where we were headed and my vision of how I want our company to participate in improving healthcare.

  1. One journey: One thing I think a lot about is that we have to think about each individual as one person. An individual is trying to accomplish one task, like going to the doctor in a reasonable amount of time for a reasonable amount of money. They are one person on one journey, and even though they need to accomplish that task, they interact with various organizations with different incentive structures. Aligning organizations to work together throughout a member's journey is one key area that we believe in at Circle . Year-round, integrated support between the health plan, value-based care provider, and broker creates a seamless experience for the member.
  2. No silos: Data cannot be siloed, but it must be protected. In this company's early days, I spoke with a potential funder who asked me what proprietary data we held that no one else had. I said there were none and hoped we would never have any. They did not invest. I was at a conference recently, and someone talked about how data was kept siloed in the old days because it was in paper files. Now, it is kept siloed because we technologists are siloing it. We have invested significant resources in understanding how to integrate within any healthcare setting. Our commitment to ensuring data flows seamlessly within your organization and securely between partner organizations is unwavering. We understand the importance of data protection and compliance.
  3. Better coordination: The people who work in healthcare need better systems if they will provide better support. I am 100% behind the push for health equity, rewarding organizations that can provide better care and encouraging brokers to focus on the best options for the customers. But, if we are going to do that, we need to give people tools that simplify their jobs. One of the big challenges is that many of the health systems or health plans we look at have many vendors whose data does not speak to each other, so business units are not looking at things the same way. Internally, within organizations, we help support the journey of the people who support members through the entire process, from the first touchpoint through renewal. We can ensure that data flows between vendors to make reporting more seamless.

For six years, we have been working on laying down the pipelines and building systems that can help a health plan, value-based care provider, or broker with growth, communication, and finance.

We have now connected all of these with one centralized AI system that can interpret the data we are collecting and provide actionable insights to our partners.

We are following the full health journey of a member, the journey of the data, and the journey of the many people who work in this industry who try hard to support patients and members but lack the tools to do so. At Circle, we believe this has got to become a continuous loop where we are all learning from each other and working together toward a common goal.

Health is not one moment. It is a journey we each go on every day. Circle supports the industry in supporting patients and members on that full journey.

Love the train track analogy, Joseph Schneier! 🚂 It really puts into perspective how mismatched the healthcare system can feel sometimes. Excited to see how Circle will smooth out those bumps in the journey.
