Why Does Health Data Matter?

What’s your take on the proactive approach?

 

My advice? Don’t wait for your body to malfunction when daily dysfunctions are keeping you from being the best version of yourself. Investing in generational wealth starts with generational health. And you can’t live your best life if you’re suffering from uncomfortable symptoms, not sleeping or eating correctly, or in pain. Really, why suffer?

 

It took me years as a mainstream physician to see that testing was more than just finding out whether disease existed in your body or not. There was and is so much more to understanding how your body works, and I took the time to become more educated and proactive for my patients. 

 

For example, normal is just that normal.  Nothing wrong there, but Optimal is where the magic happens. Here are some FACTS that often don't play out in the reality of mainstream medicine to help you understand and be more proactive: 

 

  • Key hormone players need to be tested to evaluate function in different lifestyle impacts if you keep hitting against the wall without results.
  • The GI Microbiome is pivotal to understanding cellular health and hormone function and why certain drugs and dosing may work differently for you because we are all bio-individuals.
  • Epigenetics - the study of how our behaviors and environment affect our health outcomes gives a window to see what is possible and how you can be more on-target.
  • The edge of technology and testing are converging. The modern approach is here. Now you have to see what and how to use it to your advantage with a health care provider who is up to snuff with making sure you are still valued and informed as we integrate these tools.

 

If you’re feeling a little overwhelmed at this point, take a deep breath. It’s not your job to have known all of this, and you’re not the one who is responsible for explaining this all to you.

As youbsaid, LaReesa Ferdinand, MD, FACOG, the health data is so important and not to just roll out disease. I also heard this oh-so-true remark the other day: "If you don't make time for your health, you'll be forced to make time for your illness'. And being proactive is key, right?
