Why expensive is Mingqian tea?
Mingqian tea begins to germinate during the "Jingzhe" and "Spring Equinox", and tea can be picked before "Qingming".
Its buds and leaves are delicate and rich in aroma substances and taste substances, so the quality is very good.
However, because the temperature is generally low before Qingming, the number of germination is limited, the growth rate is slow, and few can meet the picking standards. Rare things are more expensive, and Mingqian tea is even more precious.
There are geographical requirements.
The green tea produced in Hainan, Yunnan, Guangxi, Guangdong, Fujian and other provinces can only be called early spring tea, not Mingqian tea.
Mingqian tea should have a strict time limit, and it must be the green tea picked in the first round from the vernal equinox to Qingming to be called Mingqian tea.
Because of the warm climate in Hainan and other provinces, green tea can be picked as early as the Great Cold. The gestation period of hibernation is short, and the taste and other aspects are very different from Mingqian tea. Especially before tomorrow, these teas have been picked for many rounds, and the quality has been greatly reduced.
However, Mingqian tea has gone through more than 5 months of hibernation, and the first batch of new shoots that germinate in spring contain high levels of tea polyphenols, alkaloids, amino acids, and catechins, so Mingqian tea has a good taste and is durable. Soak, rich in nutrition.
