Why are film/streaming studios more interested in packages with a polished script and a book version of the script, than with a script alone?

Film/Streaming Studios like this type of package because it offers more than one option for creating new and original content. See details below.

For Writers... they know there are other options studios also like. However, adapting their script to a book is what writers are choosing to grab the attention of film/streaming executives ... and simultaneously, on their own promote the book version of their script directly to a domestic and global public.

Why are studios interested in multi-platform packages? How will this package help get my script produced?

  • Scripts that meet their immediate creative and production needs has a quicker path to production: The script is formatted and written as the foundation and blueprint to produce a media visual that can be developed, funded, and created for immediate theatrical and/or broadcast release.
  • The advantage of having a book version of the script provides another creative source that's able to expand the storyline along with the number of characters and their description.
  • Having both a script and book version of your script makes it easier to create new content based on the concept, storyline, and individual characters that are already outlined, developed and defined, in the book version of the script.

  • This is why sequels and spin-offs to your original script is easier to write and produce in a shorter amount of time.

What's in it for writers to have a polished script and book version of their script.

Although there are other options to bring attention to your script.

Adapting your script to a book is what writers are choosing because it gives writers more than one option for promoting and marketing their project to film/streaming studios... and simultaneously, they're able to control and promote the book version of their script directly to a domestic and global public.

This is why writers like Spielberg, Steven King, authors, and many other writers have been using adaptation marketing strategy for decades?

Keep in mind: Given your script has been written, the most important step is already completed.

Adapting Your Script To A Book in today’s book publishing industry has been made easier to adapt scripts/books.

It is less time-consuming, with publishing resources that are readably available (i.e. adapt scripts to books, publishing, distribution, and marketing) that the writer decides on when and what are needed.

How can writers with a completed script get started?

It begins with Adapting your script to a manuscript.

It's important to remember:

Many scripts have a chance of being submitted and reviewed...

  • But all Authors set their own rules for how the manuscript is written, when it gets published, distributed, and released.
