Why I stopped using ANY Calendar app
When you’re in mobility, sharing your availability with others is a tedious experience on iOS. If you’re in iMessage for example, you need to switch back and forth between apps to simply share a time slot.
Well, good news! For the past few weeks, we’ve been hard at work. We’ve listened to our users & amazing beta community (thanks all!) and improved one of THE things you love about Thingthing: the Calendar.
So, here’s everything about Thingthing v 2.3…
1/3 — A better view on when you are available 🌟
By giving a 3-days week view, it’s very easy to check if you can meet Today, Tomorrow or after-tomorrow and reply in a snap. Also, in Mail.app, it’s very handy when typing an email and quickly check if you are available or not.
Here’s how it looks:
2/3 — Share multiple slots in a few taps 😃
Using iCal, the UX journey for sharing your availability is very slow because you always need to switch context (and app), take a note of them [and sometimes, you simply forget — well…I do too!]
With Thingthing, we’re solving this problem in a very simplistic way: Simply tap and share. No more switching blurb and blabla…!
We’ve also added Timezone support to each slots for a more seamless experience for the person you chat with. Yep, they’re important too!
What they receive looks like this…they simply tap the clickable text and create an event instantly.
3/3 — Changing the slots duration = 🔝
Another neat addition is the ability to change the slot duration. So, whether you are chatting with a colleague, friend or a business prospect, you can choose between 15', 30', 1h, 1.5h and 2h.
[…] in iMessage, you need to switch back and forth between apps […]
BONUS
We’ve also added Box as a service inside Thingthing. So, if you are a Box user, your mobile productivity has now jumped by 3000%!
Seriously…YES.

8yHi Eric, we have in deed been approached by some companies 😄 - I am really interested on what you mean by pulling event data from multiple internal business units - perhaps worth dropping me an email? I am adding you to my network 😉

8yNice approach. I am curious to learn if you have been approached by any large business establishments to deliver more of an enterprise version (that might be tasked with pulling in event data - simultaneously - from multiple internal business unit calendars). Keep up the good work.
