Why injectables treatments won’t help with skin conditions
We understand the temptation of quick-fix injectables, especially approaching the Christmas party season when we all want to look our best. But it’s a big decision.
At Tej & Co, we’re not against injectables, but our job prioritises your skin’s long-term health. Injectables won’t help strengthen your skin barrier, calm irritation, improve texture, minimise pores, fade pigmentation, or speed up cell renewal. Don’t be fooled by immediate results – they aren’t a shortcut to healthy skin.
Did you know a strong skin barrier can delay having injectable treatments?
Don’t kill the messenger, but unhealthy skin ages more quickly. So, let’s get back to basics – strengthening your skin barrier will delay injectables, saving you a small fortune! A healthy barrier traps moisture in the skin and keeps irritants out for plump, dewy, youthful skin. Look after your skin cells, and they won’t dare age prematurely.
Did you know a strong skin barrier prolongs your injectable treatments?
The results of your injectables depend on the health of your skin. Healthier skin means quicker post-injection recovery: less bleeding, bruising and swelling. Longer-lasting results mean less frequent top-ups. Again, saving you a small fortune.
Tej’s experience with injectables
“Not everyone wants injectables, but everyone wants to look their best. At Tej & Co, we focus on skin health first, so I didn’t have my first injectable treatment until I was 55– filler in my cheeks for hollowing. Injectables are a nice add-on to healthy skin, but it’s better to address skin health for natural results. I still want to look like me and be able to move my face.”
So let’s make a deal. Let’s get your skin in tip-top health with skincare and advanced treatments before taking the plunge.
Skincare
Our products feed your skin all the raw ingredients needed to rebuild your cellular matrix (collagen, elastin and ATP) for youthful, glowing skin. We recommend Dermaviduals (which puts back into the epidermis what it loses with age) and Neogeneis (which puts back into the dermis what it loses with age). We’ve got all bases covered.
They may not smell as nice or feel as creamy as luxury brands, but they change your skin on a cellular level. Unlike other brands, we put skin before products. Luxury skincare just sits on the skin but doesn’t improve skin health or keep the microbiome beautiful. Ironically, they are often rich in cheap-as-chips silicones because they have a far longer shelf life than nutritious oils.
At Tej & Co, we see many skin conditions due to overwashing, stripping, and peeling of the skin barrier, but they improve after restoring the skin microbiome. You might not see a change for 3 or 4 months, but your friends will notice a difference and your make-up will go on better. Your skin wants you to be patient.
Skin Treatments
After feeding the skin, it’s time for a bit of stimulation – the skin gets a bit sluggish with age. Whereas skincare works mainly on the epidermis, treatments work deeper down on the dermis, the middle layer of skin where most ageing occurs. Think of the dermis as the scaffolding holding up the epidermis for dear life. But instead of chasing collagen with drying acids and peels, our advanced treatments rebuild the whole cellular matrix from the inside out.

Microcurrent
Microcurrent is having a moment. Recent concerns that heat treatments such as HIFU hinder future facelifts have put less invasive treatments back in the spotlight. First, we release the tight fascia surrounding muscles, which drag the face down or make you look tired and angry. Then, we loosen tight muscles (clenched jawline, anyone?) or the frown lines between our brows; then, we tone up the lazy cheekbone muscles. The gentle current stimulates ATP and collagen and is perfect for sensitive skin that can’t tolerate microneedling.
LED Light Therapy Treatment
This holistic favourite rejuvenates the skin from the inside out without damaging the barrier. Skin responds to light – think of how we tan. Light penetrates deeper than skincare, accelerating skincare results and restoring what life takes out (stress and UV). It builds collagen and calms inflammation, taking the panic out of the skin.
We recommend monthly LED treatments to charge up the battery in our skin cells called ATP. Think of our skin like a mobile phone – when the battery runs low, it needs charging with LED.
Microneedling
We love combining LED, microneedling, and skincare to wake up lazy skin cells that have stopped working as a team. Microneedling improves cell-to-cell communication and regenerates new collagen, which is especially helpful for textural issues such as fine lines and acne scars. It treats sunspots and prevents them from reaching the surface, especially if your misspent youth involved sunbeds or beaches!
At Tej & Co, our long-term approach addresses the root cause of premature ageing as well as the symptoms. Our treatments preserve and stimulate collagen without disrupting your skin barrier, and we look at your skin three-dimensionally to stop fine lines from turning into deep folds. For example, when you arrive, we will clock how you move your facial muscles – after all, your muscles hold up the face!
