Why it's time for change

Picture a fountain, its water running down through numerous basins. One basin fills another, which overflows into the next, and so on. Further down the fountain, the same water is pumped up again to keep the process going...

Now picture the standard English grammar system as if it were that fountain. A distinct grammar paradigm trickles down and impacts every part of education: teacher training, teachers, schools, courses, methods, coursebooks, students...

The system won't change if you don't

Some students become teachers. Some teachers become teacher trainers, course creators, or coursebook writers. Each link in this chain impacts the next and perpetuates the system. And like the water in the fountain, the same grammar keeps circulating.

Be the change you wish to see

Grammar should help, not hinder, so there's good reason for a new approach if the traditional one proves toublesome. After all, if you had a leaky faucet in your home, would you keep mopping up water time after time after time, of would you get a new faucet?

That's what I thought - it's time for change. Why not try an effective new approach with the One Rule? One Rule, to rule them all.

Otto Scharmer: "We are collectively creating results that nobody wants."
