Why Microsoft/LinkedIn should improve things swiftly

It is really a great concern to professionals like me, for Microsoft/LinkedIn to improve on or re-introduce some of the better features and functionalities swiftly. Facebook is continuously making big moves. We would like to see LinkedIn keep its credibility and advanced searches returned before it is too late!

Facebook doesn't only want to be a solution to connect family and friends. It now also wants to be a utility for professionals, which is the biggest threat to Microsoft/LinkedIn, sustaining their target audiences.

It is rather not a need, but a necessity for LinkedIn to ease out its new features and bring back the additional services we all had for free or pay, after what appears to be a complete downgrade on the new platform.

What We’ve Lost

  1. Free accounts do not have any tagging anymore
  2. You have only two options from your connections, is to send a message or you can block the person
  3. Your only sorting options are by recently added, First Name and Last name.

Education Button

We've lost the education button, but you can find education in Learning.

Exit of Major Advanced Search Features

  1. We have all lost advanced search
  2. We have lost premium search features
  3. We have lost saved searches
  4. We have lost the ability to sort companies by those we are connected to
  5. We have lost the ability to search postcodes and also the within range of distances of people from a Postcode or Location

Still there but that too with limitations

  1. You can still use the Boolean modifier OR - but AND and NOT don’t work anymore

2. You can still sort by relationship, location, industry and company

LinkedIn needs to bring back the services it offered, so that we can continue to see it improve and develop a better experience for the users like us.
