Why Patriotism & National Pride mean Everything

This article is written with my intention of sharing the critical importance that while today's politicians and political parties debate about the economy, healthcare, national sovereignty, building the wall, etc. - BUT, as Americans we must always endeavour to do what's best for our great country, communities and families.

Importantly, I have long believed, a patriotic person is a person who loves his country and his every action is in order to keep the pride of his country. He/She respects everyone but cannot just walk away when someone disrespects his country. I also believe, It is important to show patriotism in our actions and be proud of the country we live in.

NOTE: Core values toward the common good can restore a sense of unity!

I also personally believe in having a smaller Government, tax cuts, providing every American worker a solid living income without hurting our thriving economy, reining in the Technocrats e.g. Facebook, Google, Twitter, etc. in Silicon Valley without killing innovation and American global leadership, providing smarter and more effective healthcare to all Americans without a government authoritarian takeover, implementing a far more effective strategy and 'game-plan' to fight against the Chinese Communist threat, improve our educational levels for all our children, etc.

I have always believed the US is the best nation in the world and it was first written, developed and executed model for every other nation since!

Importantly, The Constitution was written during the Philadelphia Convention—now known as the Constitutional Convention—which convened from May 25 to September 17, 1787. It was signed on September 17, 1787 - and was lovingly crafted with the remarkable idea - liberty under the law.

Importantly, it all begins with 'We, the People'

Additionally, I am writing this article today as a proud born and breed American who has grew up in New York, and over the years lived in Florida, California, Connecticut and Ohio.

Over the course of my life, I have closely watched and observed the major shifting values with family, god, politics, faith & progressive culture as we rapidly migrate towards 2020. Especially, in my working life in the Advertising, Marketing and Digital Industry in the US and worldwide too.

As I right-of-center, conservative and God fearing man, I have continue to believe that something resembling a cultural compromise with modern-day progressivism is accelerating at a faster speed over the past three years than the proceeding 50 plus years in my life.

Additionally, I can't say in my entire life - I could finally believe the tide is finally turning and the choice for: God, independence, family, humanity as never been more clear. America is truly back! It’s 1776 over again!

Importantly, I was thrilled about the speech our current President, Donald J Trump delivered 0n the Fourth of July 2019 speech from the Lincoln Memorial when he stated: '... and it is the saga of thirteen separate colonies that united to form the most just and virtuous republic ever conceived. On this day, 243 years ago, our Founding Fathers pledged their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor to declare independence and defend our God-given rights. Thomas Jefferson wrote the words that forever changed the course of humanity: “We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.” With a single sheet of parchment and 56 signatures, America began the greatest political journey in human history.

But on that day, the patriots who would determine the ultimate success of the struggle were a hundred miles away in New York. There, the Continental Army prepared to make its stand, commanded by the beloved General George Washington. As the delegates debated the Declaration in Philadelphia, Washington’s army watched from Manhattan as a massive British invading fleet loomed dangerously across New York harbor.'

REVITALIZING AMERICAN COMMUNITIES BY GIVING US CITIZENS REAL CONTROL AGAIN

Having worked in the Advertising & Marketing Industry since 1985 – the Advertising is different today and, we still have no respect for history. We still don’t observe principles. And, we have even less connective tissue due to today’s politics. BUT, I as just wrote recently - my THREE favorite US Presidents during my lifetime (YES…includes both major US Political Parties e.g. Democrat & Republican) e.g. JFK, Ronald Reagan and Donald J Trump.

I am very ‘pro-business’, pro-growth, love competition and innovation and generally reject idiotic socialist policies. And, watching Venezuela, People’s Republic of China, Cuba and Vietnam the last decade has certainly reinforced my personal views that the best politicians like: JFK, Abraham Lincoln, Ronald Reagan or now Donald Trump – have always staunchly believed in the economic policies that were best for the USA.

In the early 1970's - I first became aware how 'patriotic' and proud I was to be American - after watching Mark Spitz win all those Olympic swimming medals, the US Hockey and Basketball teams dominating, the thriving economy – I have always been proud of the US. Unabashedly patriotic too!

I am also an advocate for: Symbolic Patriotism – Love of country is both emotional and tangible. I still and truly believe most Americans unite around certain symbols including the flag and the national anthem—witness the uproar when athletes refuse to stand for the singing of the “Star-Spangled Banner” or someone turns his or her back to the flag during the Pledge of Allegiance.

Additionally, I instantly realized the importance of my Grandfather having served in the US Navy during World War 2 when I was 'awakened' by the massive US successes in the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich, all in world record time.

Importantly, from a child I quickly learned these 6 critical lessons for life and beyond:

1. Support veterans and active-duty military. Taking care of the people who serve our country is an important way to show patriotism.
2. VOTE
3. Fly the flag – the right way.
4. Visit and support a national park.
5. Stand for the National Anthem
6. Proudly sing the National Anthem at every occasion!

The only time, my pride was questioned was during the Vietnam days shortly after I moved from New York to Australia and I was told as a child – ‘GO HOME YANK’ – that was the first time I ever questioned my birthright and heritage. BUT, that did not make any lasting impact on my beliefs and it only focused me more!

BUT, its precisely the exact moment I totally first understood about feeling Patriotic - by that I mean, Patriotism or national pride is the feeling of love, devotion and sense of attachment to a homeland and alliance with other citizens who share the same sentiment. This attachment can be a combination of many different feelings relating to one's own homeland, including ethnic, cultural, political or historical aspects.

BUT, flash forward to the last three years of Donald J Trump US Leadership, I am really perplexed as to why Facebook, Google, YouTube, Apple, PayPal and Twitter are attempting to censor American values and traditional standards in the ‘DIGITAL TOWN SQUARE’ by NOT accommodating or tolerating more conservative expressions and conversations on social media in 2019 and into the 2020 election?

I know and see hundreds of my ‘conservative’ and ‘populist’ American friends that are also frustrated with censorship by social media platforms Facebook, YouTube, Google and Twitter. e.g. Kanye West, James Woods, Louis Farrakhan, Candace Owen, Raheem Kassam, Paul Joesph Watson, Alex Jones, Laura Loomer, Michelle Malkin, Milo Yiannopolous, Rose McGowan, Tommy Robinson, PewDiePie, Courtney Love, Clint Eastwood, 50 Cent and more. (these people are simply ‘dangerous people’ either! Importantly, even Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (Hawaii), a Democratic presidential candidate, filed a $50 million suit against Google, alleging that a temporary account suspension infringed on her free speech.

With the 2020 elections soon upon us – I see a swell of more conservative voices, freedom, growth, nationalism restoring the light of the world and build America into an even bigger, brighter future. Built on ideology, ethos, culture and freedom.

Finally, this war on free speech in America must stop! Without your support, we can all be silenced. Let's get back to the days when artists, actors, musicians, bands, sporting legends, stars, Ministers/Pastors, politicians, business and even working people were much more bold in expressing their opinions, values and weaponizing social media wasn’t even an issue.

The social media giants like Facebook and Google/Alphabet say they don’t want to regulate political speech - but, I pray President Trump closely monitors and addresses shadow-banning and political censorship before more 'conservative voices' are stopped by liberal/leftist bias.

Importantly, from my experience in pioneering Internet Marketing in San Francisco in 1999 - I truly believe, Facebook and Google don’t make clear either their guidelines or reasoning for accepting or rejecting paid political content or the process by which they make those decisions. This lack of transparency may lead outsiders to believe the worst, especially when tech chief executives make political statements that don’t accord with their prospective customers’ beliefs. (left or right)

What’s next as we head into the 2020 presidential election? As candidates pour tens of millions of dollars into political ads on Facebook and Google, those companies’ unclear and inconsistently applied advertising standards suggest more controversy to come. I sure hope the Government keeps and always continues to enforce our Constitutional Laws e.g. Constitutional law is a body of laws that defines the role, powers, and structure of different entities within a state, namely, the executive, or legislature, and the judiciary; as well as the basic rights of citizens and, in federal countries such as the United States.
