Why Referrals are Vital For Sales Strategy
Are you getting ghosted right now?
Prospects telling you to call back in 2025?
Emails not getting replied to?
That is happening to a lot of people I am speaking to. Reasons include:
❌ Your initial outreach wasn’t strong enough.
❌ You’re not following up properly and waiting for the client to get back to you.
❌ You’re not speaking to a decisionmaker, but somebody you “get on with.”
So how do you generate sales right now? I worked with two new clients in the last week and wanted to show you the difference.
Referral client (pictured above). Was recommended to them on a Monday and 10 days later was paid and in their office delivering sales training.
The second client was a new lead.
1. They sent me an enquiry through www.nirajkapur.com in September.
2. We had an introductory Zoom call which went well and I uncovered their needs.
3. Spent time putting a proposal together with two testimonials.
4. Followed-up. Brief changed slightly. Looking more at sales training and less at LinekdIn training.

5. Did a new proposal with more testimonials.
6. Brief changed again. The MD will do the training. They want me to work with their sister company instead.
7. New proposal created and sent.
8. Followed up and heard nothing. Sent valuable content.
9. Continued to hear nothing and send more valuable content.
10. Client apologised, a lot was going on. They found the content I sent helpful. Training is no longer face-to-face in London since we can get schedules aligned. Invoiced client for Zoom training.
11. Did a massive amount of prep for the training.
12. Got paid.
13. Delivered sales training to the client.
I’m proud of these wins and both clients were a joy to work with. The referral was a quick win. The new lead took 13 touchpoints over 13 weeks.
Leads come from different sources. Referrals are an easier way of doing business.
On 3rd January, I’m doing a 90-minute LinkedIn masterclass with Corina Goetz Spaces are limited to 50 people.
