Why Self-Employment is the Future— and How Kids Can Start Now

Peace Friends,

As we enter the State of Independence, youth are stepping up as masters of their own fate by becoming business owners. This movement is especially inspiring following a commerce-driven weekend like Black-Owned Friday and Small Business Saturday.

In my search for impactful initiatives to support, I discovered the Children’s Business Fair, an organization that offer children a platform to start and showcase their own businesses. This is where kids can develop entrepreneurial skills and experience the thrill of running their own ventures.

According to MBO Partners, 54% of independent workers say they feel more secure working independently than in a traditional job.

This insight from the State of Independence report highlights a growing shift towards self-employment as a path to stability and fulfillment. Initiatives like the Children’s Business Fair could be the first step in imbuing this independence and self-reliance in people from an early age.

If you're as inspired as I am, check out how you can create or join a small business fair specifically designed for children.
