Why Are So Many People, Particularly Women, Not Getting The Full Health Benefits That Exercise Brings?

Unless you’ve been ‘living under a rock’, you will be aware of the many health benefits regular exercise brings – from controlling your weight, to improving your mental health, to reducing the risk of type 2 diabetes – the list is a very long one!

As you can see it’s certainly not all about vanity, although there is no shame in wanting to look, feel and be the very best you can be!

And to all those who mock, criticise or even hate on you for ‘trying to be the best you can’, they are simply trying to place their limitations onto you.

These people may have given up, but YOU HAVEN’T! Your past isn’t going to determine your future! You are in control and you are going to make the rest of your years the best of your years – RIGHT!?!

Would any of the below benefit you and your life?

- Toned and stronger muscles, making you look and feel better

- Decreased stress/anxiety & improved mental health

- Better sleep & more energy

- Better skin & hair

- A boosted immune system & better ability to fight disease & illness

- Improved intimate/sex life

- Reduced cellulite

- More confidence

And getting there doesn’t need to be horrible, painful and a boring experience! I know you’ve had this before when you’ve tried to get fit, but likewise you know that there are people out there who are living an exciting, fun and adventurous fit & healthy life – don’t you?

We are NOT talking about never having a social drink!

We are NOT talking about eating ‘cardboard’ style boring meals for the rest of your life or following some unsustainable diet!

We are NOT talking about giving up all the treats you enjoy or that meal you love!

We are NOT talking about spending every hour in the gym and neglecting friends, family and the people you love, like and enjoy!

NOPE – we are talking about doing what works for you!

- Whether it is making small gradual adjustments to your eating/drinking that grow over time…

- Whether it’s setting up the time before and after that night out so you minimise the negative effects the beer, wine and kebab will bring…

- Whether it’s having a ‘back up’ home workout for when you can’t make the gym, or whether you just don’t like the gym and want to maximise your exercises at home or outdoors…

- Whether you have plenty of time, or very limited time…Whether you want to workout with your partner…your friends…or your kids…or alone. Whether you want to make a drastic transformation or just shed a couple of pounds…

YOUR GOAL IS YOUR GOAL – don’t hide it away, don’t fear it, don’t be ashamed of it, don’t ignore it – make it happen!!!

And guess what!? YOU KNOW WHAT YOU MUST DO, WHEN YOU MUST DO IT & WHY YOU MUST DO IT!!!

However, despite this and despite what many ‘experts’, books, magazines and films will tell you – knowing isn’t enough! Knowledge doesn’t bring power! What brings power, results and success is when you have the knowledge, and then put it into ACTION!

And I’d like to put this message over to women even more so than men!

The painful fact is that although the majority of us are clearly well aware of the health benefits that exercise brings, it is still the case, in England, that four out of ten women do not get these benefits due to lack of activity!

These are not my thoughts, these are the findings of the government funded organisation Sports England. Their last study into gender-based sport participation also found that only 31.9% of women participate in a sport-based activity at least once a week, compared to 40.5% of men!

In an attempt to address this, Sports England are actively encouraging women to take part in exercise by a number of projects such as the ‘Go Where Women Are’ campaign.

The Chief executive of Sport England, Jennie Price, stated “Many of the pressures of modern life do not make it easy for women to have the confidence and motivation to be active.” She went on to discuss how the campaigns aim to celebrate the creative and often unconventional ways many women are fitting exercise into their busy lives.

They have focused on real life stories from women to show how they incorporate exercise into their lives by jogging with a buggy, cycling to work, doing a workout in the lounge, jogging to pick the kids up from school, or going trampolining with friends.

And I am here to do my part!

I know both sides of the story – because I’ve lived both sides of the story! No, I’ve not been a woman – but I’ve experienced the opposite to a healthy life and mind!

I’ve suffered from mental health issues, I’ve had an unhealthy lifestyle, I’ve been short of confidence, I’ve felt it is hopeless and impossible to be happy, I’ve lacked energy, drive and struggled to sleep! I’ve been in a pretty sh*tty place….

AND whilst I know that place still exists, I choose not to visit there anymore! I handed back my passport to that place and it isn’t a destination in my present or future!

I’m on a new path now, one which I want to take as many people as possible, who want to better their lives, on with me!

And whilst I’m not naïve or silly enough to believe that working out and eating better is the only thing to a better life, I can assure you that it is the start that will give you the momentum, drive and power to get you to where you want to go!

Want more time? Get fitter and healthier…

If you can’t see the truth in the above statements, please read again and look at it from a new perspective!

Would having more energy, a clearer mind, the ability to follow a routine and the dedication to ‘get the job done’ help your job and business?

Would setting a healthy fun example to your children on a daily basis make you a better parent and improve the lives of your children in the long term?

Would getting up earlier and following a routine that energises you spread to other parts of your life, and make your life more fulfilled and free up time for what really matters?

The answer to each is YES, a big YES!

And I am not here to just ‘talk the talk’, the ‘walk is being well and truly walked’!
