Why Success Is in Your Hands—Not Washington’s
The Declaration of Independence, U.S. Constitution, and Bill of Rights established the government's structure and continue to secure the rights of American citizens..
-In nearly three decades as a self-employed entrepreneur, I’ve seen it all—economic downturns, market shifts, political turbulence. Through it all, one truth has remained constant: success is never about what happens to you; it’s about how you respond.
It’s tempting to believe that external forces—policies, politicians, or even societal trends—will dictate our outcomes. But let’s get real. Waiting for a better environment is a trap. As entrepreneurs, we don’t wait. We act.
Our current reality is a tricky one. Headlines shape perception, and it’s easy to feel overwhelmed or even misled by distorted narratives. But clarity comes when we zoom out and focus on what we can control—our choices, our habits, and the effort we put in every single day.
Ronald Reagan said it best: “Government is not the solution to our problem; government is the problem.” This isn’t about cynicism—it’s about empowerment. When we take ownership of our success, no external factor can derail us.

The grind is real, but so are the rewards. Your success doesn’t hinge on who sits in office or what policies are passed. It hinges on your ability to adapt, persevere, and execute.
Be your own person and follow your true north. Your path is yours to take. Not what someone will promise or what they will do to make your life better. You can do that on your own.
So block out the noise. Put in the work. And remember: the driver’s seat is yours for the taking.
