Why are we betting big on Portugal? Because the market is ready for disruption, and so are we.

No, Portugal is not the biggest market, but it is indeed a very interesting one in construction and real estate.

Here are some visualizations of Portugal in perspective with other key countries that we are active in:

Iberia is a potential market, within which Portugal shouldn’t be overlooked

Portugal may be smaller than Spain, but it punches above its weight. The vibrant local ecosystem, strong support for innovation, and natural ties to Belgian companies make Portugal an exciting launchpad for our future growth.

Some key players in Portugal:

Now that we are active in Iberia, it was interesting to me to analyze Iberia as an entity, a Region, composed of 2 countries: Spain and Portugal. Portugal is a smaller market than Spain with 40 proptech startups, while Spain has around 300 startups according to our data.

However, after many contacts, and a roadshow to meet 10+ captains of industry in Lisbon, I love the energy of the local ecosystem, with players like Sitio, being a reference of coworking space and understanding that the future of coworking is verticalized (they launched Fintech Hub).

Deloitte has launched a consulting offer, helping developers to increase the efficiency of their sales operations, CBRE has a consulting offer to improve facility management. Law firms like CCA have a director of knowledge and sustainability. CASAIS has high innovation ambitions (they are also shareholders of CREE Technologies), Sonae Sierra understood that Transformation & Communication must go together (that’s why they have a Chief Transformation officer supervising both innovation & communication departments), Grupo Ferreira Holding developed a very mature innovation strategy (of sourcing of innovation partners)...

I already feel a high innovation maturity from the country. People understand what we do and are very interested and supportive!

Finally there is a natural connection to Belgian construction & real estate corporates, as the majority of them are active in Portugal.

Let's create a lasting impact together—one that redefines the industry and inspires future growth!
