We all sell brands.
Brands vary and cut across every sphere of life, from the popular international brands to local brands.
At the beginning of the product cycle, after the idea is conceived, you begin to imagine what you want your product to look like, who it should serve , where you would want the product to dominate and hence you develop your strategy on how to execute all these expectations.
As a Sales professional, most times the Marketing Team handles these activities, in some unique cases the Sales person does some "Marketing Activities" to generate demand in the terrain.
Unfortunately, the Sales person does not entrench him or herself in these activities because we feel that "Marketing is handling it".

Name brands are sometimes distinguished from generic or store brands.
Quick Steps to build yourself into a Brand.
- Understand whom you are and what you enjoy doing the most, this will be the easiest thing for you to sell.
- Develop on what you enjoy doing the most: Choose an industry you get excited about. It is easier to work were you are having fun.
- Dress appropriately for the Industry you have chosen.
- Understand and speak the Language of the Industry you have chosen.
- Create your Social media profile to project who you are.
- Share content that speaks about who you are.
- Join organisations and groups of like minded professionals.
As a sales person, we need to determine who we are and what we enjoy doing building strong on the foundation of who you are.
Advantages of building your Personal Brand
- You have a definite destination : You know where you are going to.
- You have definite plans: You have a clear understanding of what Jobs you want, what developmental training you require and how you intend to get there.
- You can develop a Personal strategy: Nobody is going hand over gold to you, you have to search for it with a map. Your strategy is your map to where you intend to reach. You can not have a map if you have no destination. Your strategy clarifies to you (your ideologies) .
