Winnebago eRV2 Experience discovering Florida City's White Sand (Shade Sand)

Some of the Greatest Treasures we have in this country is the vast network of Parks - City, County, State and National. Some of the best gems are right in your backyard, like we found here in Chiefland, Florida.

Entrance to Manatee Springs State Park

Today we find ourselves at Manatee Springs State in Florida. We have one of our Non-Camo units at the park, and we continue to put the unit through it's paces, today the soft white sands - what the locals call the Florida City White Sands.

According to the Florida State Parks website,

'Manatee Springs State Park proves boardwalks aren’t only for the beach. The park's 800-foot boardwalk runs through a majestic cypress forest overlooking one of Florida’s breathtaking first-magnitude springs.

People have enjoyed the cool waters of Manatee Springs for more than 10,000 years, from early Paleo Indians to modern park visitors. The first-magnitude spring releases an astounding 100 million gallons of water daily. This makes it a popular cooling-off spot and a great place to stroll on the park boardwalk and gaze into watery depths.

True to its namesake, manatees can be seen in the cooler months, and birds, mammals and fish are spotted year-round.

The park also offers 8.5 miles of nature trails and a safe connection to the 32-mile Nature Coast State Trail, so don’t forget to bring your bicycles!'

While everyone was on the beach and enjoying the Manatees, we took the eRV2 to the surrounding trails to prove you can truly get away from the mainstream and truly boon dock in God's Country.

We have quite a few vehicles in our fleet across the country. We have one of our non-camouflaged units at the park, which allowed us to escape detection, and we continue to put the unit through it's paces, today the Soft White Sands - what the locals call the Florida City White Sands. Watch the short video, our eRV2 was not an Asphalt Princess today.

We managed to get around all the roads of the state park. We set up camp right next to the perimeter of the park, the locked gate, and made lunch. We talked about RVs, and where we have been, where we want to go, and how we are going to get there. Today we managed to get to a place where 35 inch tires rule the world, so while we parked and let them discover places 35 inch tires discover, we let the hotdogs cook, and the closest neighbors were critters waiting for our leftovers.

After our lunch, we continued to get around the park back roads. No issues. So far our Class B RV the Winnebago eRV2 looks like a van, she smells likes a van, she acts like a van - in case you were asking. Everything you would expect from Winnebago, and more.

Having a problem finding your next adventure, here are a few good resources to explore:
