Sustainable Packaging Summit 2024
ACTEGA, manufacturer of specialty coatings, inks, adhesives, sealants, and compounds for the print and packaging industry, showcased its latest environmentally friendly solutions at the Sustainable Packaging Summit 2024 in Amsterdam on November 12-13.
Whether for flexible and metal packaging, folding cartons, or labels, products by ACTEGA provide packaging with a high-quality appearance and innovative functionalities while meeting the increasing demand for sustainability.
On-site, the company exhibited the most recent samples from its innovative ECOLEAF and Signite® technologies – two platforms designed to reduce waste and improve recyclability for various applications.
Signite® is a unique labeling technology developed by ACTEGA, combining patented low-waste labels and state-of-the-art application machinery. ECOLEAF offers “mindful metallization”, a groundbreaking process that enables printers, converters, and brands to add high-quality, sustainable metallic embellishments to labels and packaging.
For this technology, the company was honored at a special ceremony with the prestigious FINAT Sustainability Award in the category “Reduction of Environmental Impact”.
At the summit, visitors could also explore ACTEGA’s portfolio of sustainable water-based barrier coatings, engineered to protect against internal and external substances, such as fat, water, vapor, and more, while ensuring that packaging retains its structural integrity and aesthetic appeal throughout its lifecycle.
Another focus was on the unique heat seal coating systems for aluminum menu trays that eliminate the need for extrusion and film lamination while providing a meat-release effect.
Additionally, ACTGreen® PROVALIN® was showcased as a PVC- and plasticizer-free compound for metal vacuum closures, setting new, revolutionary migration standards for food safety and consumer protection.
