Welcome to the first edition of WizzNews! We will be sharing a snapshot of exciting news, job openings and celebrating the best of Wizard at the start of every month.

In this edition, we take a look at the grand openings of two stores, a head lice outbreak and more!

Wizard Pharmacy Gateway officially opens its doors

Earlier in October, we held our official grand opening of our newest Northern Territory store, Wizard Pharmacy Gateway in Yarrawonga, NT. Located in Gateway Shopping Centre, the store will be the second Wizard Pharmacy in the NT.

Our Pharmacy Operations Manager for the Northern Territory Wizard Pharmacies Ashleigh Hutson said that the team was eager to bring good health for less to even more communities throughout the NT.  

“Since arriving in the Northern Territory, our customers have benefited from an extensive range of competitively priced products and a loyalty program that provides additional value, which is especially important in the current climate. 

"From vaccinations to MedsChecks, we’re proud to be a trusted and convenient source of health services for our community,” said Hutson.  

The store will be open Monday to Friday and various times, which you can check out on our website.

Now Hiring: Pharmacists in the NT

As a Pharmacist at Wizard, you will be responsible for delivering high standards of clinical service and experience, effective dispensary management as well as delivery and growth of professional services.

Key responsibilities of both roles include ensuring compliance with all state and federal workplace and pharmacy related legislation and guidelines, effective dispensary coordination and management and delivering a consistent excellence level patient and customer experience.

Hello Albany!

In September, we celebrated a significant milestone with our expansion into the Great Southern with the grand opening of the Albany Hacienda store, bringing the Wizard value to more communities in WA.

Opening a Wizard Pharmacy in Albany will allow us to bring our high-quality health and wellness, beauty and giftware offerings to new customers; and with the growing importance and role of community pharmacies to enhance primary healthcare access, we cannot wait to show the people of Albany and surroundings 'why Wizard?'.

Ditch the Nits: Battling the Head Lice Outbreak

Our Health Editor Corin Kelly recently shared with our Pharmacy team about the recent head lice outbreak that had swept through Australia, with school-age children most at risk of attracting the pesky nits.

With research indicating head lice are becoming resistant to commonly used insecticides, she recommended the team encourage the wet combing technique as a first response.

This technique is cheap and effective, allowing the searcher to detect and remove head lice and their eggs with hair conditioner and a nit comb.

To ensure that our team and customers have access to the most useful and current health information, she updated the head lice clinical information page on our HealthHub service, available in-store or online.

Our in-store HealthHub service is located right at Dispensary.

Another year, another team photoshoot!

Our in-house Creative team coordinated and shot our annual Wizard Professional Services Support Office Team Photoshoot in October as we've onboarded new faces to keep up with the growth of the Wizard Pharmacy brand and our overall client base in the last year.

With the expansion of Wizard Pharmacy in WA and the NT, it remains our top priority to support our franchisees in order for them to deliver clinical excellence and support their local communities with the growing importance of community pharmacy.
