One Minute NLP - Dissociation

Dissociation is a simple yet effective NLP technique to help manage overwhelming emotions. Think of it as stepping out of a situation and viewing it from the outside, like watching yourself in a film. Instead of being caught up in the fear or stress of a memory, you observe it from a distance.

For example, imagine replaying a stressful memory on a screen. You can make it less intense by turning the colours dull, softening the sounds, or pausing and rewinding it. This makes the memory feel less personal and more manageable.

It’s especially useful for dealing with phobias, anxiety, or past trauma. By creating this emotional distance, you can process things more calmly and clearly. With practice, dissociation becomes a handy tool for staying composed and in control, no matter what life throws at you.

Meta Magic - Are you working hard or hardly working?

Rahul was the embodiment of discipline, his days governed by a rock-solid routine designed to hit crystal-clear goals. Yet, despite his relentless efforts, he watched his friends and colleagues surpass him in success.

Frustration gnawed at him, and comparison clouded his thoughts. Finally, unable to bear the weight, he sought his mentor's guidance.

"Sir, I've given my all. Then why am I not as successful as the others?" he asked, his voice trembling, eyes avoiding his mentor's steady gaze.

The mentor smiled knowingly, leaning forward. "Hard work alone doesn’t guarantee success," he said.

Rahul frowned, but the mentor continued, "True success needs a clear mind, self-kindness, and freedom from comparison. Comparison erodes your self-worth. Ask yourself calmly: ‘Is this my kind of success? Did they walk my path?’ Clarity dissolves doubt. When you compare, you are not truly working hard; you are just hardly working."

My question to you: Are you working hard or hardly working?

Hook From The Book

“A happy person isn’t someone who’s happy all the time. It’s someone who effortlessly interprets events in such a way that they don’t lose their innate peace.” ― Eric Jorgenson, The Almanack of Naval Ravikant: A Guide to Wealth and Happiness

Movie Motivation

“Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.” This line quoted by the character Harvey Specter in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban encourages reframing and finding positive perspectives even in difficult situations.

There is no problem big like a Iceberg, nor happiness that is like moon. It's always pieces of small pebbles and stars that twinkle that bring in happiness.
