Marketing Mixtape

He's his own man. Last week, we highlighted a story about Taylor Swift's influence on questionable condiments. This week, we follow up with a story on Travis Kelce. The current face on Experian advertisements was selected before the PR boom around his relationship with Swift, and the company stresses that they aren't changing course and that they were happy with him as a spokesperson before his new notoriety.

All things being equal, it's always good when seemingly good people get rewarded.

But they're so delicious! Last September, Google announced their plan to delay the rollout of browser updates that would phase out traditional web cookies. The controversial move was significant -- Chrome holds roughly 63% of the market, and such a massive change would impact marketing and development worldwide.

The move to push the new updates to 2024 follows those of competitors Firefox and Safari, who hold only a fraction of Chrome's exposure. While marketers might breathe a sigh of relief, it seems like this is only a temporary delay.

Digital advertising is looking for a comeback. There's been much ink spilled around the state of social media marketing. While it isn't going anywhere anytime, changes to Twitter, TikTok, and the Meta "verse" have made it harder for marketers to leverage the platforms effectively.

While there was a bounce back last year, there could be some worry around TikTok and Meta considering subscription services for ad-free customer experiences. This could significantly cut into overall audience exposure, which may or may not impact lead quality or audience engagement.
