Worldwide Support for Olympus Environment Month
This past June, Olympus offices worldwide celebrated the internal celebration Environment Month. Employees joined a number of events to promote recycling, preserving nature, and supporting the local community.
Here are seven examples of Olympus employees helping the planet.
Olympus China
In late June, Olympus China held a country-wide flea market event for the first time at offices in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Xi'an, and Chengdu. The high quality and affordable second-hand goods were a big hit with employees!
Olympus Europa - Hamburg
Olympus' Hamburg offices celebrated our Environment Awareness Month by volunteering for the Loki Schmidt Foundation in Hamburg's Alten Land. They preserve and promote about 70 specimens of old fruit tree varieties. Fifteen volunteers from Olympus helped maintain the orchards.
Olympus Japan - Hachioji, Shirakawa, and Tokyo
Olympus regularly donates desks, shelves, chairs, and other uneeded items to NPOs and civic groups. Recently, the Hachioji office donated 551 items to 22 local organizations, and received recognition from Hachioji City and Hachioji Citizen's Activity Council.
