Would You Refer A Friend To Get Your Company Referral Bonus?

Employee referral has been one of the top sources of employees for most organizations for years. The referral program helps organizations in acquiring new talents during their recruiting time. The majority of companies nowadays are giving out referral bonus for employees. This referral program gives bonuses depending on the different positions an employee is referred to.

Organizations such as Jobstack are giving referral bonuses of up to $15,000.

As we have seen, employee referral program is the best source of quality candidates for business. Quality candidates offer quality work and thus enhance the success of an organization. The trend nowadays is to have the best employee referral practice that stands out among the stiff competition available today. These practices benefit both the employees and the business itself. These practices make it easy for employees to refer their friends and relatives to get a job in a company.

Such practices include:

  • Proper timing of the referral bonus payout time. Most companies give the bonus for a successful referral after three to six months. This gives time for the organization to evaluate the referred candidate, waiting for six months is not a good thing and this may make it hard for employees to refer friends and relative to your system. The less the time to wait for the better.
  • A plain email to employees asking them of “who they know” tend not to yield good results. Therefore organizations should improvise a better way of passing on the message about a vacant job to their employees.
  • Organizations tend to adapt technology in managing the employee referral program. Since employees are busy doing their jobs, they may never realize an open chance of a new job. Having software to automatically match the open jobs to the employees in that professional network will make them want to refer a friend for that open job and in result increase the success of the referral program.
  • Highlighting the success of a referral program or the general success of the business gives the employees an encouragement to continue adapting to this program.
  • Employees need a better clarification about the expectations that a company has towards the new candidates. This will ensure that the employees get the right candidates.
  • Top referrers should be recognized, they are a great investment to the organization. Giving a little recognition will play a vital role in improving the referral culture.

Once organizations accomplish the above, employees now are reaping huge benefits from employee referral programs. They are referring many of their friends and relatives to get jobs in their organizations.

Some are even going a step further and joining this program from other organizations who offer employee referral programs to outsiders. This will ensure that they get more money to add up to their savings.
