Year Ending or New Beginnings? March 31st Vibes
March 31st reminds me of New Year’s eve. All of the deadlines and the need to rest, recuperate and come out stronger than before. That’s the goal. However, I do have a love-hate relationship with deadlines.
They hate me just as much as I hate them yet, the same goes when the hate switches to the love too. It creates anxiety, in my head, I panic and wonder if I can beat it or will deadline win again. But deadline is also telling me, “yes! finish this and move on to the next best thing.” My fight with the deadline is also there, the hidden perfectionist in me often gets choke slammed by the procrastinator in me today yelling, “not today!”
So here’s the thing, sometimes the Deadlines win; and they may end up to us as a failure if you couldn’t get it done by then. But they will have taught you a thing or two if you’ve given it a really good shot.
I’ve apparently I’ve been speaking a lot about my failures. So let me tell you what those failures actually brought. The learnings and the opportunities that you create for yourself. You know you’ve pushed through and you’ve just crossed yet a massive hurdle, but now the hurdle seemed easier, better off than your last error of judgment. And likely, on to something bigger!
Now, I’m not alone to have this thought, considering that everyone seems to like examples, you’ll find a full anthology of choices from the book Tipping Point by Malcolm Gladwell.
April 1st, comes with new beginnings. Pretty much like January 1st. Different weather and 3 months later, but delivers the exact same feeling. Not just financial new year, but more like the real one. This is the time for a do-over for the resolutions you made to your self to start with in the new year.
Here’s the part that makes it even better; "you can chose to have new resolutions."
Given that, I’m at a place where I know I need to get many more things done all by myself or with the help of others, and manage it all. Why not use that as a case study to see what works, what doesn’t and trying to crack down on the top social media algorithms.
Algorithms!
Now that I have your attention.
The industry of social media, requires one to be updated. We’ve done for ourselves, we’ve done for clients and then we kept doing the same things and suddenly, we weren’t posting as much, or not great quality. The algorithm suddenly forgets all about you!
You start hearing words like shadow-banning and wonder what else is up.
Warning: Entering Thought vortex
Only to realise that Instagram is now lesser about the hashtags than ever and more about the music (pov: audio pages and viral reel music).
Wait.
Are they trying to build something to compete with Spotify or is it twitter spaces or LinkedIn audio.
Recommended by LinkedIn
Audio will push accounts to go public, with people who might be shy on camera, but fabulous if they know they aren’t seen.
More mics will sell than cameras and god knows what’s next, perhaps a gaming tab somewhere. Though reels are already gamified!
Snaps out!
This vortex of thought is always overwhelming!
