Year One as an Entrepreneur - Lessons Learned
Today marks the 1st year anniversary of starting Launch My Health. This milestone brings a lot of feelings, but the one that sticks out the most is pure gratefulness. I cannot put into words how thankful I am for the Launch team and the entire network of professionals, friends, and family that have supported me over the past year.
As I reflect over the past year, I have often felt I like jumped out of a plane without a parachute, but I wouldn’t trade a day of it. I have never felt more alive and inspired that I have the opportunity to make a difference and help people create health for themselves. I love waking up every day knowing that I am exactly where I want to be.
Here are a few lessons I learned being an entrepreneur (in no order):
1. LOVE your business- I wouldn’t recommend starting a business to make money, start a business you have a lot of passion for; know that you will be working 12–14-hour days and weekends so you better like what you do!
2. Thrive in ambiguity- You never know what is going to happen in a day, let alone the week or month. If you need a lot of stability or clear direction, I would not recommend owning or starting a business.
3. Grow some thick skin- No sugar coating, not everyone is nice, and some people are rude and unprofessional.
4. Fail fast and pivot- Test your ideas and be ready to adjust quickly!

5. Listen- to your customers and what they want, you will only be in business if you have a product or service that people want to buy. See number 4!
6. Multi-task and learn- I had no idea how hard it would be to become an expert in literally everything. There is no IT help desk, HR department, or finance team! I am so grateful for Google and YouTube!
There have been many hard days over the past year, countless tears shed, and sleepless nights, but I am so happy that I took a leap of faith and that others had faith in me too (thank you investors and Launch team). A special thank you to everyone reading this that has a smile on their face, I feel your support and encouragement.
As I reflected on the past year, I spent some time reading my journal from the past year, came across this writing and it seems fitting.
“Every failure is a stone laid on the path to success.”
Looking forward to year 2!
Fantastic milestone for you and the team! Truly inspired by your dedication and optimism…wishing the best to you in the years to come!
