Yes, ‘Healthy’ Really Can Be This Simple!
Hello – I hope you are doing well!
In my newsletter last month, “Set Employees Up for Their Best Health in 2024: Here’s How” I shared how the new year is the perfect time to decide to offer your employees an engaging and camaraderie-building group health and wellness challenge that focuses on improving their nutrition, health and wellness.
Now is also a fine time to check in with your employees to see how they feel about their health journey commitments in 2024. Does your health and wellness program offer regular check-ins with a dietitian or track one’s progress via an app? If so, take advantage of those milestones to help them feel great about their progress! Your program should encourage them to make slow, sustainable changes at the pace at which they are comfortable.
The health program that you offer your team should 100% have these progress checks in place – otherwise, we both know that health “intentions” or “resolutions” set on January 1 may be long forgotten by the end of February. A recent YouGov survey of approximately 1,200 U.S. adults showed that about 4 in 10 made New Year’s resolutions. Of those surveyed who set new goals, about 15 percent kept their resolutions and about 45 percent kept some but not all of them by the end of the year. Why not help all your employees keep all of their resolutions throughout 2024? Help your employees who are feeling defeated reach their ultimate goals. Help them put health and wellness checks in place to fuel their motivation, drive and desire.
Implement a Sustainable Health + Wellness Program
Offer your employees a group health and wellness challenge that focuses on improving their nutrition, health and wellness as a team. One that offers daily support and accountability via an experienced and credentialed registered dietitian nutritionist, along with the accountability of their own colleagues.
Plus, participating in an engaging and camaraderie-building health and wellness challenge that encourages team support and health improvements will set them up for wellness success all year long. They will feel better overall, improve mental health and be more productive.
How the 12 Fix Group Challenge Works
The 12 Fixes to Healthy Challenge Program takes a non-diet approach to wellness in a challenge format that is based on a Mediterranean whole-food lifestyle. This program integrates food timing, gut health, the newest protein science, fitness, sleep, eating ergonomics and mindfulness all in one challenge.

And here’s where the slow and sustainable part takes center stage: Participants start by adopting just one new Fix; additional Fixes are introduced one at a time throughout a 12-week time period. Plus, they only need to adopt the Fixes 80% of the time to be successful – no pressure to be perfect!
A registered dietitian nutritionist leads groups in implementing each of the 12 Fixes, in turn, using the 12 Fixes to Healthy book, 12 Fixes app, weekly recorded training sessions and daily support. Together, the participants concentrate on just one Fix at a time as the challenge continues for 12 weeks, allowing participants time to concentrate and adopt sustainable changes in their lives.
“The 12 Fixes provides easy-to-digest content and helpful tips to implement changes, but without being overwhelming. Instead, you’re left with the belief that 1) you can change, 2) small changes matter, and 3) yes, healthy really can be this simple!” – Carolyn Williams, PhD, RD, James Beard award-winner and culinary nutrition expert
