Yesterday we made a little announcement...
.... As of February 18, 2021, I'm taking the next step in my career at SmartBug, as our Chief Revenue Officer.
SmartBug Media® has been an integral part of my career growth. I first met SmartBug in 2013 when I adopted HubSpot as a marketing automation platform to support a brand new inbound marketing strategy at nettime solutions. I was attracted to SmartBug’s reputation as the highest recognized partner in the HubSpot ecosystem.
When I came onboard with SmartBug in the fall of 2017 as VP of Sales and Marketing, I told Ryan Malone that SmartBug was the best-kept secret in inbound marketing and I was determined to expose that secret and bring the SmartBug brand front and center.
I’m honored to have the opportunity to continue to deliver on this promise.
Fast forward to today’s market, it’s more important than ever to align to the customer journey—everything from demand generation to conversion to opportunity creation to customer acquisition and then customer attachment, success and ultimately delight. The three key teams in function of Revenue Operations, ultimately owning this customer journey, include marketing, sales and client services.
You need all team members rowing in the same direction AND at the same pace.
So it goes without saying that Revenue Operations is quickly taking priority for many organizations, SmartBug being no different. As the head of revenue, I'll be responsible for defining and maintaining the revenue strategy, architecting and integrating the revenue system, and designing and launching revenue generating programs for both new and existing clients.
Over the next several months, I'm particularly excited to dig in to:
- Defining the go-to-market model, including building a channel partner strategy of MarTech partners, private equity relationships, and other consulting partners.
- Crafting sales and demand generation strategies including programs to maximize revenue performance from existing and prospective customers.
- Leading & optimizing demand-generation, new sales, and upsell programs to sell services and predictably meet and exceed targets.
Ultimately, I want to spend more time with our clients, understand what their priorities are and figure out how we can support in their growth. What are the biggest challenges our customers are facing and how we can help them? It’s important to me that we not only continue to deliver exceptional Intelligent Inbound® services to our clients, but that we serve as true partners in their growth.
My goal is for SmartBug to continue to lead by example, We pride ourselves in drinking our own champagne (and really good champagne at that, I'm thinking Dom Pérignon). I want us to be our own best case study for our clients, by showcasing an aligned revenue team with marketing, sales, client services. I can't wait to show the world a better way to operate.
