Are You Agonising over Trying to Make the Right Decision?

Are You Agonising over Trying to Make the Right Decision?

Did I do the right thing?

Am I sure this really is the best decision?

I wonder if I can go back and do it over?

If you have no idea what I am on about, then consider yourself extremely lucky.

You can thank your parents for great brain-chemistry DNA.

But if you are like the rest of us, these will be familiar questions.

It's because as humans, we are naturally afraid of the unknown.

Especially when it comes to decision making.

We want to make the right decision, after all, these decisions matter.

Whether you're choosing a new career, moving house or making an important life change.

We want to make good decisions.

But of course, we can't simply predict the future.

So we get stuck and agonize over our choice.

And how do beat this post-decision agony?

We need to remove the other options from our mind.

The key is to remember that those imagined choices never existed in the first place.

Focus on moving forward and enjoying the choice you did make.

It's as simple as that.

So the next time you catch yourself thinking about the choices you didn't make.

Switch your attention - start thinking about the reasons why you chose the one you did.

And if you are still struggling...

Why not team up with your friends, so they can remind you why you made the decision you made.

Or make a journal entry or an affirmation list to reread when you get confused.

Whatever you chose to do, you need to enable yourself to enjoy your choices fully.

Only then, will you be able to move on and embrace your decisions.
