You don't lose when you get knocked it's when you stay down that you loose

I had this not-so-positive day. And as usual, I turned to my best friend for some advice. He patiently listened to my blabbering of life being unfair et al and then in his quiet tone related a story from his secret-service days, when he was training to be an officer. He said I had to fight hand-to-hand combat, my opponent was much huger and stronger than me. I was scared and almost wanted to give up as I knew I was destined to lose. My Ustad gauged my predicament and said "let him hit you in the first round and if you survive the second round, you will win".

He of course just reiterated one of the most famous quotes from the movie 'rocky'. The very famous quote goes ....“Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It's a very mean and nasty place and I don't care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't about how hard ya hit. It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done!”

And, yes I did dust myself off and got back on my feet and am determined to move forward. There are times you just need a bit of reassurance and sunshine to drive the darkness away and keep going..
