You Gon' Be Alright.
Give yourself permission to feel whatever you feel today. As a good self-care practice, it is important to honor your emotions – they speak to your needs (or unmet ones). Take some time to sit with those emotions. Unpack them. Talk to them. Scream at them. Get everything off your chest, then create distance between yourself and them.
Now breathe. Breathe until you feel calm and centered. You good?
Pull out a sheet of paper + pen and pose, then answer, the following questions to yourself:
· What do I need in this moment?
· In what ways does this moment change who I am and/or how I show up?
· What shifts might I need to make in my day-to-day life to feel centered?
· What support and/or resources do I need to feel OK?
· How have my goals and/or life changed because of this moment?
Answering these questions might offer you some clarity and guidance on next steps and what action you need to take.
Find encouragement in whatever ways you can. This moment might reveal what’s most important to you. It might even help you understand the type of work you want to do in this life or underscore that the work you’re currently doing is the work that you should continue doing.
You have more control than you think. The goal is to figure out how to shift from feeling powerless to powerful. This is your homework assignment.
