Are you the hero you want in your story?
Last time, we explored these questions:
If you haven’t taken a moment to reflect on these questions, I encourage you to do so.
Now, let’s dive into an even more crucial layer:
Who do you want to be in your story?
Whether you realise it or not, you are the hero of your own narrative. You have the power to decide what qualities your story’s hero embodies.
It’s not just about the actions taken; it’s about the characteristics displayed while taking those actions.
For instance, I can be cooking dinner with gratitude for having a family to cook for, or I can do the same while feeling frustrated and resentful about the task.
The action is the same, but the tone of the story shifts dramatically.
Similarly, how a character navigates challenges is often more significant than the challenges themselves.
A character who feels the fear, embraces their team, and shows up authentically—even in tough times—creates a very different story than one who lies and cheats without regard for others.
So, here’s the question:
How do you want to show up in your story?
You get to decide.
If you’d like to share, send me a message. I’d love to hear your story and meet your character!
To unfolding hero tales,
Sumarie
