Are you a job hopper?

Are you a job hopper?

Are you a “JOB HOPPER”?

If you move “too often”, you’re seen as unreliable and a flight risk.

If you don’t move often enough, you might lack ambition and desire to progress. Well….

Maybe it’s about time we should be thinking about this another way as it’s not always as black and white as you think: (Especially in the last 2-3 years)

Maybe the company’s direction didn’t match that person’s ambitions & aspirations and they felt like the company was stifling their progression.

Maybe they were ‘job fished’ and promised a job that in reality, didn’t ever exist.

Maybe that person has a clear idea of the company they want to work for but hasn’t found it just yet.

Maybe the leadership team wasn’t inspiring.

Maybe the company culture was toxic and they didn’t appreciate their employees.

Maybe the company weren’t paying market rate for that job.

Maybe their previous manager was a complete (Expletive here!)…….

Maybe they have demanded that everyone returns to the office with no flexible working

OR maybe they left for personal reasons that don’t need to be explained?!

Our advice is don’t be too hasty to judge, have the conversation first, in jumping to conclusions about a person’s character based on their tenure in previous positions can often lead to jumping to the WRONG conclusion. Just talk to them and assess for yourself. (You might have had similar experiences or made similar mistakes yourself throughout your career)

We need to accept that everyone’s path is different, we all have our reasons for the decisions we make. Ask the question, have the chat and don’t discount someone because they may ‘look’ like a job hopper on paper.
