Are you a Project Manager?
The idea to be a Project Manager it's funny for some IT/IS guys.
It's time to manage instead of execute the ward work.
In my opinion, a Project Manager, have to take leverages of the collaborative intelligence and practical experience of is expertise on the field.
Over my work experience, I have learning some things, and some by the hard way:
- Favor the simple over the complex, more important too, keep it simple;
- Make project sponsors write their own requirements, you will going to write blue, but they will mean blue and yellow;
- Get users involved as early as possible, they are the key to sucess;
- Document every step of your Process, then make absolutly sure It's followed.
- Use a Wiki, Intranet, or whatever you want to maintain the records, the versions, all of it.
One more thing, share what you think, your vision, your way of seeing things, don't be affraid.
Don't bind to one methodology, they exist to help you to be better.
