Are You Striving For Perfection?
Practice makes perfect, they say. But I see it differently.
Practice creates experiences. Experiences improve skills. Improved skills generate confidence. Confidence in ourselves, our work, and our ideas. The more we practice, the more we learn, and the better we get.
The goal is to become our best self, not some copycat version of a flawless face on a magazine or Instagram feed pretending to have life all figured out.
Striving for perfection is a game we can’t win. So let’s play a different game. We can win at the game of practice because all that is required is to show up and do the work. We can stop striving for perfection when we decide our only job is to take the first step toward our dreams and keep showing up.
