You WIN or you LEARN!
Hello team 😊
Another important concept we practice here is called: You win or you learn!
What does this mean?
It means that if you think you have failed at something eg an improvement attempt, an average gold call, an SOP not followed correctly etc, you are not to view it as a failure but rather a learning opportunity!
So you either succeed (win) or you learn. Its that simple!
Another way we look at this is that the faster we fail the faster we learn and grow.
But at the same time the onus is on you to ensure that you do actually learn from each mistake, each failure, each rework etc.
We don’t just fail, shrug our shoulders and hope that things will improve. That is a sure fire way to losing your customer, your job and eventually the company.
There is zero tolerance at PGNZ for people who treat problems with disrespect or contempt. A lean thinker loves problems and uses them as fuel to learn, grow and get ahead in every area of life.
We learn from every mistake, small and big and then take action to improve the process.

We STOP! And fix what needs fixing. Right now, in the moment. And if we need help or support with improving the process we are surrounded by like minded team mates who can help.
And if the process cannot be fixed on the spot, we escalate it to our team leader who can then guide us in the right direction.
Our support ticket system is also plays a key role. Because we review the new tickets daily in the morning meeting together. We all learn together. This is why we treat our problems like treasure. They are our gold nuggets. We put them on a pedestal and we learn from them!
It means that you as an owner/ stakeholder at PGNZ are responsible to improve the process.
This principle goes hand in hand with this: Within struggle lies opportunity!
In 99% of businesses you don’t have the freedom or authority to make an improvement. But in a lean culture like ours, you have that power. This is the beauty of a lean culture. Everyone is trained and empowered to make improvements. Endlessly.
You are a process engineer. First and foremost. Your job is to improve the WAY we do things. Not just to DO things.
So, take action: What mental and visual triggers will you put in place to ensure you always view a failure as a great opportunity to learn?
