Young to Youthful

Young to Youthful

A freshly minted #CharteredAccountant was referred to #KPMG in Jan 2003. Young Man went through two interviews and was offered his #firstjob and joined #Forensic #team in Delhi which was ~20 driven individuals.

Young Man worked his way through the organization and got an opportunity to work very closely and learn from leading accountants and expert witness, Ivy league MBAs, organization builders and energetic professionals, some of them are now #KPMGAlumni and hold the #Forensic flag high, albeit in a competing firm. In this journey, the Young Man also helped senior professionals to do #vouching, match #report reviews with moods of the reviewers and help few get back to hotel rooms after drinks at #annualoffsites.

With time, Young Man moved to the next phase of life and was lucky enough to have @DikshaChadha in his life. A mirror that showed him his true potential (still aiming to realize it), gave honest feedback and styling tips! She made him #RaymondMan (Caution: Work is in progress!). She put her career on pause for moving continents with him and took good care of the #desiboy.

Entry to London in Jan 2010 was ironically timed perfectly with unravelling of #financialcrisis - no one could have imagined that exchange rate would plummet by 15% from accepting the #secondment to landing in #London and jobs starting to become scarce.  However, #KPMGLondon welcomed him warmly and gave abundant opportunities to gain experience despite the difficult market environment. During the year plus stint, he had the benefit of seeing from very close quarters all that happens in the #squaremile under the able guidance of trio of FS partners! He reminisces walks around St John’s Wood, run to #RegentPark and witnessing snowfall in London and the city coming to a grinding halt for a day, but he reached #CanaryWharf office on foot!

Back to #India, and in late 2011, some developments coincided in personal and professional life:

-         Move from #political to #financial capital

-         From 4 BHK to 2 BHK

-         From #HappyCouple to #ProudParents

-         Focus from work across sectors to #FinancialServices

Fast forward, developments within the firm brought him under the mentorship of a new leader to rebuild Forensic (third time!) and thereafter worked with a bunch of exceptionally talented partners across advisory, and the wider firm, who guided him towards partnership.

He has had the benefit of an extraordinarily #strongteam driven with singular focus on minimizing #financialcrime in #India, #Asiapacific and #Middleeast. He has built network with #regulators in the country who call on his insights and #clientservice has helped him to build a name for the best #Forensic team in the country.

The Young Man, Suveer Khanna, is still youthful and completes 20 golden years in KPMG. #TheFirm has given him opportunities galore within #Advisory, #GlobalCorridor business and leading #marqueeclient relationships. Last but not the list, “Picture abhi baaki hai”.

PS:

I thank everyone for your #warmwishes, #guidance over the years and I seek your support to make this journey even more memorable as we work together to #prevent, #detect and hopefully #eradicate #financialcrime and build a more #trusted #business #environment.
