Your Brain on Drugs = Denny's Grand Slam?!
The Partnership for a Drug-Free America produced a well-known ad in the 1980s featuring a fried egg to discourage drug use among children. However, the effectiveness of the ad was questionable as some kids continued to use drugs even after learning about the negative effects drugs have on the brain.
Despite this, the Partnership did not reflect on the ad's shortcomings and instead opted to create a more explicit approach. They hired Rachel Leigh Cook to star in an ad where she destroys a kitchen, aiming to convey the message that drugs destroy lives just like a wrecked kitchen.
The ad implies that it is better to have a mom who can cook than one who destroys the kitchen, suggesting that using drugs can lead to a loss of basic skills.
