Overcoming Depression to Move Forward
Lucy* came to me overwhelmed, stuck, and defeated. Struggling with depression, she felt unable to make progress toward her personal and health goals. She wanted to move forward but felt invisible barriers held her back. She felt like a mouse on a wheel.
Through the Get Brain Fit Brain Optimisation Assessment, we uncovered that Lucy’s brain was under-activated in areas responsible for focus and decision-making and overactive in areas responsible for emotional regulation and flexible thinking.
👉 Her Solution: We implemented targeted brain training exercises, nutritional changes, quick and easy physical exercises, and visualisation techniques to strengthen her prefrontal cortex and specific supplements to balance her brain. Lucy also used strategies from the Cognitive Clarity Framework, including my FUEL approach, to stay focused, get clarity on her intrinsic motivation and actions. As a result, she regained her confidence to action her goals.
✨ Her Results: Within months, Lucy was setting achievable goals, seeing progress, and feeling better than she had in a long time. She rebuilt momentum and transformed her mindset to create a more positive future by tackling one small task at a time.
Turning ADHD from a Challenge into a Strength
Michael*, a talented entrepreneur on the same anti-depressant for half a decade, came to me feeling scattered and frustrated. Despite his creativity, he struggled to follow through on his ideas, was low on motivation and felt frustrated.
The Get Brain Fit Brain Optimisation Assessment showed Michael’s brain had overactivity in certain areas, which indicated traits of attention deficit disorder (ADD), causing him to hyperfocus on distractions instead of actions towards his goals. His brain needed more stimulation, and the anti-depressant he had been prescribed was doing the opposite!
👉 His Solution: We developed a custom plan to balance his brain. He took his Brain Optimisation Report which included his brain-change recommendations to his GP for discussion, and he developed a plan to safely wean off his medication and implement key lifestyle changes, including diet changes consistent with his brain type and the addition of key supplements to balance his brain.
Three weeks after these changes, Michael shared with me that he felt better than he had in many years, and he was able to focus better, achieve more and even smashed his fitness training times!
