Your Game Plan to Win!

Your Game Plan to Win!

𝗤𝗨𝗘𝗘𝗡𝗦𝗟𝗔𝗡𝗗𝗘𝗥!! I love this old newspaper photo 𝗕𝗨𝗧 only one of us would go on to forge an NRL career, play State of Origin for the Queensland Maroons, & play in two NRL Grand Finals – winning one.

The photo (early 1990’s – never mind exactly when) shows me & clubmates from the mighty Emerald Tigers. That year the five of us were selected to play at representative level.

𝗛𝗜𝗡𝗧 it wasn’t me (I’m back row on the left) – the local legend is one of the young blokes in the front (shout out in the comments if you know his name; extra clues include teams Melbourne Storm and Manly Warringah Sea Eagles )

𝗢𝗳 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲, 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲’𝘀 𝗮 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲. It’s not about talent & hard work, though that would be a good discussion. It’s about having a Game Plan & knowing our position in it.

You 𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 see this in an interview of a Grand Final winner.

Presenter – “Congratulations on an amazing win! How did you guys pull this off today?”

Winning Player – “Yeah thanks! Gee, I’m not sure, I just got off the team bus, pulled on a jersey, & here we are.”

Instead

🟢they’ll thank their teammates, the opposing team, the awesome fans, their coach, the support staff, & their loved ones

🟢It's executing their game plan

🟢It's being focused on playing their position, rallying their mates, communication & encouragement

🟢Plus hard work start in the pre-season & many years of effort & dreams before that.

𝗦𝗶𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆, 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗰𝘁.  No one achieves a million dollar net worth with no clue as to how it happened. They can tell you about the steps they took, the challenges & obstacles they faced, & what their game plan looked like.

𝗜’𝗺 𝗴𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗿𝗲𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘆𝗼𝘂.  The secret is, there is no secret. Just a game plan and powerful day-by-day steps.

I'll use a football metaphor to help us along.

Imagine there’s a game on Saturday. No one knows the player roster, you don’t have a coach, there wasn’t any team training during the week, you’re not sure where the game is being played, or what time it starts, the jersey’s haven’t been washed, half the team forgot their boots, & most worryingly no one knows what position they are playing because you’ll just work it out for each set of six once you get on the field.

Any surprises that the team hasn’t been going so well this season? Plus it sounds like the chances of winning this week are low - what do you reckon?

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘄𝗶𝗻-𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵-𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗯𝘂𝗱𝗴𝗲𝘁. Not just any budget but a “Zero-based Budget”. It gives every dollar a position to play.

It’s not hard or restrictive. You’re designing this Budget Game Plan yourself to have the best chance of winning.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝘂𝗹𝗮 𝗶𝘀: 𝗜 – 𝗘 = 𝗭 that’s, Income minus Expenses equals Zero.

Wait, does that mean I’ll have no money left? Good question & No it doesn’t mean that. But that’s how things end up without a game plan.

Actually you’ll feel like you got a pay rise, because one of the first “expenses” to include is a ‘Savings’ category.

Other categories include ‘Everyday Money’, ‘Entertainment’ & ankle-tap those sneaky side-steps with a ‘Random Stuff’ category.

Your Budget Game Plan means you give every single dollar a job to do 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀.

The game plan must be written down & agreed with all players (your partner) so you’re working together for the win.

𝗜𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗱𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻...

Your attack is ineffective (debt clearance, savings & investing don’t happen) plus regular breaks in your defensive line (with unplanned & unneeded spending) cause you to lose.

Set up your Budget Game Plan today & start winning with money.

Remember money is great at following orders, but YOU must Be the Boss of Your Money & tell it what to do.

Comment with 'GAME PLAN' & I'll message you a “Zero-based Budget” template. DM me if you're serious about creating a Game Plan for your Money & your Best Life.

Also can you identifying the Local Legend?
