Your life is a reflection of your thoughts
While reflecting on life I think of its complexities and simplicities. I see an ocean, fierce and daunting, calm and beautiful. I reflect on my family and their differences. I think of how short life is and how important it is to enjoy every moment. I then remember that you can't have light without darkness or happiness without sadness. I then have to accept that sadness and failure are apart of life and I have to enjoy those moments as well.
While reflecting on life we always have questions. Is it true that our interpretation of reality influences the way we behave, therefore our lifestyle and results? What truly matters? Who would visit me at my funeral? Is love truly one of the few things that matter most? What would be utopian society like? Why don’t we have it yet? Are humans inherently good or bad? maybe neither? Why humans have such brains and other life forms don’t? How to make sense of all of it? Why do we search for meaning? Animals don’t, do they?
What each one of us should experience while being alive? Why some people are incompatible? Is Life a journey? or a war? Are all humans self-centered and selfish and is it even bad? what’s bad? Why stick to morals if they are created by humans? by people just like you? wouldn’t it be better to live in accordance with your own morals, which are defined by you, not others? We are not taught how to live well and how to beat the fear of the unknown. Why’s that? Why do we talk too little about the things that matter? what matters? Why we talk too little about old age, sickness and death?
I do lots of meditation. In mediation I receive different information. Sometimes about my life or usually what life is about in general. It give me clarity to understand the world and my part in it. I listen to the silent voice inside and take the action necessary. This is the best way to participate in life. I follow the guidance and do the action and then I am experiencing life. There was a man who walked around the stadium for the football game, but did not go into the stadium. He decided to buy a ticket and sat in the bleachers and watched the game. Then he realized he would rather be on the field and play the game. I find this more rewarding than just being something to the others.

However, recently I’ve been thinking about submission by way of fear, the fear of suffering. This could also relate to the fleeting nature of happiness and our inability to satiate our desires. I don’t know if this applies to anyone other than myself. Principally, there is little difference between those who abide by the laws of god, those who follow the social norm, and those who abide by the laws of society. Fear of the consequences of transgressive behaviour necessitates a sacrifice of individuality. I endure work for fear of suffering the pains of poverty. I hide my true face and follow the social norms for fear of becoming an outcast. We are all slaves to our fears.
Life is a roller-coaster with ups and downs, just sit tight and enjoy the ride. The people who you inspire along your life’s journey, those that aspire to be you, those that are moved by your words and deeds, the positive impact you create on people, the footsteps that you have created for others to follow, the little connections that people have acquired from your life’s work. These wee little things when looked upon are the reflections your life and how its mirrored into other people’s life through time.
