Your perspective defines you!

Life is beautiful. It’s quite astonishing how it teaches us every day of our life and the value it brings to make us better or worse every day. Yes, depending on our dimensions and the dynamic we consider, it also makes a few worse. Confused? Allow me to explain why I have such a strong argument. I am a reader and like to read a few pages every day, I try to finish one book every week however at the end of every year it’s been difficult to finish 50+ books but I do finish around 30+. Recently I was reading the book by Mark Manson – The subtle art of not giving a F*uck and believe me, it is one of the best books I have encountered. An absolute classic narration of event which keeps you hooked to the book and make you realise completely different dimensions of our existence. The book carries many real-life examples and a few experiments however one of the contexts that took my attention was the ROCK STAR PROBLEM story. It was the story of a guy, in 1983, a talented young guitarist of one of the bands was sent back from New York to Los Angeles just a few days before the band was about the start recording their first album. He was fired from his own band and he couldn’t believe why it had happened, his band got a record contract and just before recording he was fired, sitting on the way back home, he decided that he would start a new band and make it so successful that his old band will regret their decision. It took him two years to look for the best musicians and he created a band, he did get a record contract as well. After a year they released their first album and he sold over a 25million albums and tour the world multiple times. The guitarist’s name was Dave Mustaine and his band name was Megadeth. So to every person, he was very successful, sold millions of copies and travelled the world however, unfortunately, the band he was kicked out of was METALLICA which sold over 180 million albums worldwide. Metallica is considered one of the greatest bands of all time. Despite all the achievements he had in his mind, he was always the guy who was kicked out of Metallica. The quote from the book: - “the question is not whether we evaluate ourselves against others; instead the question is by what standards do we measure ourselves? “Dave was successful however his dynamics of measuring his success compared to Metallic was hurtful. Due to his life-defining metric continuing to hurt him, even though he had all the money, fame, and fans he still considered himself a failure.  It’s really important to change our perspective towards our problems, we need to change what we value or measure success for good. So keep a balanced and right perspective to gauge your own self and be someone to inspire everyone around. I hope you enjoyed the short tale, will share more till then as I always say “Live Inspire Excel.”
