From the event page : “As AI continues to evolve at an unprecedented pace, the voices shaping its ethical and regulatory frameworks are more important than ever. However, youth and intergenerational perspectives are often underrepresented in these critical conversations. Join Use Your Voice: Youth-Led Dialogue on Responsible AI to explore the essential role younger and intergenerational voices must play in shaping responsible AI, ensuring future technologies reflect the values, needs, and concerns of the next generation.
100 Brilliant Women in AI Ethics™ honoree and TechWomen100 Award Winner Elle Farrell-Kingsley, will share her experience advocating for youth voices in global policy forums, including the G7 Y7 and the School of International Futures. She will highlight the contributions of young people in AI governance and the potential impact that every individual can have. You will explore the importance of intergenerational collaboration in developing equitable AI systems. Through real-world case studies and collaborative exercises, you will discover how diverse perspectives can lead to more ethical and inclusive AI outcomes to create a better future. The session will conclude with an interactive activity, where you will create your own call-to-action, providing practical steps to continue advocating for youth involvement in responsible AI after the summit. Whether you are a policymaker, researcher, student, aspiring youth leader, or advocate, this session will equip you with the knowledge and tools to amplify youth and intergenerational voices in the future of AI governance.”
Elle herself had this to say, “As AI continues evolving at an unprecedented pace, it’s not just a technical issue but a societal one. Youth and intergenerational collaboration bring fresh, essential perspectives to the table, ensuring AI systems reflect the values and needs of everyone they serve. AI governance requires intergenerational collaboration. By integrating wisdom from experience with the innovation of youth, we can create solutions that are not only responsible but also sustainable for future generations.”
